Plans were initiated during 2002 by board members of the SIACF and some other interested community members to hold a first ever (for St. Ignace) All Class Reunion. It was and is intended that this event would bring St. Ignace Area Schools' alumni and their guests together for a social event that would highlight the significance of the SIACF. The first event was held during the summer of 2003.

The initial event was held at the Little Bear East Arena and was attended by over 800. Proceeds from this first event, as well as the subsequent events in 2008 and 2013, were directed into a new Fund, the LaSalle Alumni Fund. The three reunions held thus far have generated just over $30,000 collectively and have established the basis for this Fund.

Attendees at the first event in 2003 indicated that an "every five years" event was preferred. Thus, the next event is scheduled for the summer of 2018. See below. A facebook page was established to share information on the FacebookReunion and will continue to be used. You can access it at St. Ignace Alumni.

JULY 6, 2018

The fourth “All Class Reunion”, sponsored by St. Ignace Area Schools and the St. Ignace Area Community Foundation, will be held at the Little Bear East Arena on July 6, 2018 beginning at 5:00 P.M.  The event is open to anyone associated with St. Ignace Area Schools and interested community members.  The cost for the 2018 reunion, $25.00 per person, will cover rental of the arena, buffet dinner and arrangements.  All unused registration fees will be deposited in the St. Ignace Area Community Foundation’s “Alumni Fund”.  The first three reunions generated approximately $10,000 each toward this Fund.  In order to encourage pre-registrations, after June 15 registration fee will increase to $30 per person!

The All Class Reunion will feature a buffet dinner, soft drinks, and some alumni music later in the evening.  We intend to have a “silent auction”.  A “cash” bar will be available for adult beverages.

The purpose of establishing the “All Class Reunion” is to encourage alumni and community members to come together periodically socially but also to raise awareness of the St. Ignace Area Community Foundation.  The Foundation was established in 1995 and has several Funds, some established by civic organizations and individuals, some in memory of community members.  The total assets of the Foundation are approximately $1.5 million of which the principal is never used.  Earnings create grants that are awarded annually.  To date the Foundation has awarded nearly $750,000 toward student scholarships and a large variety of community projects and needs.

The 20 Funds within the St. Ignace Community Foundation include: LaSalle Alumni, Kiwanis Club of St. Ignace, American Legion Youth Activities, St. Ignace Library, McKinnon Family Scholarship, Fred Stearns Memorial, Erin Springsteen Memorial, Chipper Huskey Memorial,  Swope Family, Jackson Scholarship, Spirit of the Straits ,Museum of Ojibwa Culture, Education Enhancement, Gros Cap School Scholarship, Loryce Dyer Memorial, Special Education Scholarship, Sault Tribe Youth Activities, Michigan Community Foundation Youth Project, Vocational, Trade, and Technical Career Fund and Administrative Fund.  A tax deductible contribution can be made to any of the above funds at the time of your registration for the All Class Reunion by making a check payable to the St. Ignace Area Community Foundation (SIACF).
